Christian Encouragement in small doses: Spoonful of Courage

Books and Courses

from Spoonful of Courage

Hi, I’m Dr. Chuck and thanks for checking out the book and course page at Spoonful of Courage. We’re glad you’re here.

If you’re like me, sometimes life gets crazy. I typically write books that…first… help me process my chaotic events. I write to remind myself of how God is there, working behind the scenes, helping, and encouraging me to keep going… and to look for the opportunities in the everyday obstacles I face.

Practicing surgery for twenty-five years… I’ve noticed something. The folks who seem to thrive in adversity are the ones who first look up, then look within, and finally begin look outward, looking for a way to help others. Those who flourish—even in times of suffering—are those who give of their time and talents to others.

And writing books is one way I do that. When I write books that encourage you—in a strange sort of way… I’m encouraged. In a sense we mutually encourage one another.

My books aim to inspire courage and faith, and hope… in small doses.

My inspirational non-fiction books typically focus around health—or its loss—and how to find possibilities in life’s challenges.

What makes my books and stories unique is my perspective. I’m not a preacher, a motivational coach, or a self-helper.

I’m a surgeon. And my occupation has given me the opportunity to see how people respond to their circumstances—both good and bad.

I’m fixing to launch a series of books from my spoonful of courage series. The cornerstone book will center on How to order your health. These books, in different ways, explore the impact the Christian faith makes in life’s challenges.

Now I have another—kind of odd—writing niche. Children’s picture books. I caught this “bug” from my wife Joanna. She loves reading stories to our kids.

These titles include: Climbing the Upside Down Tree. Azi’s Gift. Fluffy’s Christmas Gift. The Lizzard in Lizzy’s Gizzard.

I hope you’ll check those out as well. These kids books provide you an opportunity to spend some time with your youngsters, disconnect, and read about things which are good, beautiful, and true.

And hopefully these works will open up some conversations and make some memories for both you and your kids.

I would be honored if you register for updates on some of our upcoming titles.
