Here’s our Story:

What started out as a book has transformed into a series of devotions, expert interviews, and book series.

The goal of everything we do is to encourage those facing adversity to see the possibilities in their problems–through looking at our circumstances from God’s perspective.

Interview with John Daly

Best Guy to See on Your Worst Day

It would be simple to portray Dr. Charles Page, MD as just a country surgeon. Dr. Chuck (that’s what everyone calls him) has developed a methodology for everyday people to navigate life’s inevitable tragedies and triumphs. And to have a deeper understanding of why they respond to these events the way they do.

Through his book, his videos, and his TV shows, Dr. Chuck peers into the everyday lives of people struggling and thriving in rural East Texas. He comes along at a time when Americans, and the world for that matter, are going through confusing changes such as aging demographics and new technology that is changing how we work and live.

Lacking resources in rural medicine, Dr. Chuck faces complications and puts in the extra work to make sure his patients receive the best medical care. It’s not easy. Sometimes he works seven days a week, checking on patients in the early morning or late evening hours, while fighting the corporate stranglehold on healthcare. Still, Dr. Chuck says he wouldn’t give up his freedom to work for himself and not be beholden to a system that often doesn’t put the patient first.

Dr. Chuck has created a view of life that reflects the challenges and setbacks of the patients who have entered his office. Many of them lack wealth and the basic resources to lead their fullest lives. Dr. Chuck has developed equations, or formulas, that help explain the human condition with the hope of awakening positive outcomes in people’s lives.

Dr. Chuck comes from a Christian evangelical background. Yet his message also rings true for those not connected to a specific religious denomination or even those with a secular mindset. He lives and embraces the diversity in his hometown of Nacogdoches in East Texas. He holds prayer meetings for college students who are from the United States, Mexico, Central America, and Africa. They do discuss biblical passages. More importantly, the goal is to help them find direction and happiness in their lives in an increasingly complex and challenging world.

A proud graduate of the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine, Dr. Chuck also completed his internship and residency there. He was fortunate to be able to train under pioneering surgeon, Dr. Michael Ellis Debakey, whose discoveries influenced medicine in the twentieth century.

When he’s not doctoring and mentoring, Dr. Chuck loves spending time with his wife, Joanna, and their five amazing children – Jacob, Jonathan, Georgia, Jane Aubrey, and Charlie.

Spoonful of Courage” is a thought-provoking and timely read. Charles Page makes an ardent case for a Creator, emphasizing that we are each born with a purpose--even when that purpose turns out to be significantly different than we envisioned. When life deals us painful blows, God’s inexplicable grace can still have a transformative impact on our lives and the lives of others around us..
